Enzymatic reduction is a non-surgical treatment that consists of applying enzymatic compounds directly to the area to be treated. These enzymes break down the membrane of fat cells, releasing their contents so the lymphatic system processes and eliminates them naturally.
Unlike invasive procedures such as liposuction, enzymatic reduction requires no incisions or general anesthesia, leaves no visible scars, involves no prolonged recovery time and allows resuming everyday activities the same day.
The treatment addresses specific areas of the lower back: the flanks or "love handles" (lateral deposits that bulge over the waistband), the lumbar area, the sacrolumbar area (fat localized just above the buttocks) and the posterior waist, where fat blurs the definition seen from behind.
Initial private consultation. The specialist evaluates the area to be treated, the amount of accumulated fat and skin elasticity to determine whether the patient is an ideal candidate.
Area marking. The specific areas where the enzymes will be applied are delimited: flanks, lumbar area, sacrolumbar area and posterior waist.
Enzyme application. Through microinjections, the enzymatic compound is administered directly into the localized fat deposits. The procedure lasts between 30 and 45 minutes.
Natural elimination. In the following days, the lymphatic system processes and discards the released fat. Adequate hydration and light physical activity are recommended to favor drainage.
Follow-up sessions. Depending on the volume of fat and the patient’s goals, additional sessions are scheduled spaced several weeks apart.
Expected results. Reduction of flank prominence and a more defined, streamlined body contour, with better-fitting clothes. The degree of change depends on the initial volume and the number of sessions performed.
Effect duration. The eliminated fat cells do not regenerate. However, if the patient gains weight significantly, the remaining fat cells can expand; maintaining a stable weight and an active lifestyle is key to preserving long-term results.
Recovery and care. Outpatient procedure; the patient can resume everyday activities the same day. Redness, swelling or mild sensitivity may occur in the treated area for 48 to 72 hours.
How many sessions are needed to see results in the lower back?
Most patients require between 2 and 4 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Volume reduction begins to be noticed from the second or third week after the first session.
Is the procedure painful?
Local anesthesia is used in the application area, so discomfort during the procedure is minimal. Afterwards, mild sensitivity or swelling may occur in the treated area, disappearing in a few days.
Are the results permanent?
The eliminated fat cells do not regenerate. However, if the patient gains weight significantly, the remaining fat cells can expand. Maintaining a stable weight and an active lifestyle is key to preserving long-term results.
How soon are the final results visible?
Results begin to be visible between the second and fourth week after each session. The final result is appreciated approximately two months after completing the scheduled session cycle.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes. Enzymatic lower back fat reduction can be combined with abdomen or double chin treatment in the same session, provided the specialist considers it appropriate after the private consultation.
